Introduction:

About Us:

We entered the polymer trade and its allied manufacture way back in the early nineties and set up a manufacturing unit to produce PP/HDPE woven fabric/sacks namely M/s Tisfab Limited in 1992. Being an ancillary of TATA Cement (Now Lafarge India), we learnt the stringent process of quality control and management. In 1997, we vertically diversified into trading of polymer by becoming the consignee agent of Haldia Petrochemicals Limited for the region of Bihar and Jharkhand. This gave us the leverage in polymer business as we had a better pulse of the market and its trend and cycles thereof. In 2002, we established a state of the art manufacturing plant of PP/HDPE woven fabric with latest new generation plant and machinery in the state of Haryana, in Panipat. Presently we are processing about 300 MT per month of polymer in our unit in Haryana.

In the year 2003, we identified an opportunity in HPL’s value added programme and planned to set up a modern film packaging plant in the state of West Bengal. We wanted to set up the best plant and had the vision to cultivate this unit to its limit. A plant, which would cater to the world and have good infrastructure, meeting European standards of dust free and hygienic facilities. Our vision materialized and today we are equipped with latest imported machines. We can produce bags of various sizes, colour and specifications. Our unit strictly maintains excellent quality control and per-shipment inspection procedures.

Ever since its inception, the company has grown from strength to strength. Its sound business policies in quality control, meeting international deadlines and producing customised products together with a professional and dedicated workforce has made PMPL a name to reckon with.

Our factory is located in JALAN INDUSTRIAL PARK, off the National Highway No.6, and is facilitated with the movement of heavy vehicles. It is well connected and about 25 KM from Kolkata. The address is as follows:

Area
Our unit is set up in an area of 50000 square feet with a covered area of 20000 square feet. The main shed is fully dust free having the carpet area fully tiled for hygiene purpose.

Power
We have already installed the power capacity of 240 KVA and is fully backed up by a DG of Cummins make of 250 KVA. We have also installed a GE Make UPS of 250 KVA for uninterrupted production. We are the first person to do so in India in this industry.

Manpower
We are presently having about 40 skilled operators and supervisors and about 20 semi skilled and 40 helpers who are very dedicated and help 24 hour round the clock production.

Raw material Source
Since we are only about 80 KM from Haldia Petrochemicals, logistically our 100% sourcing of polymer is from HPL and there have never been instances of shortage and hence we have not looked at other avenues. Presently we are using the grades HF 5600 and HF 5400, which are of high quality. We source master batches from Plastiblends located in Daman and Poddar Pigments from Jaipur which is the best in producing master batches in India. Printing Ink and reducer is sourced locally from Kolkata and also from Hindustan Inks which is a reputed name in the industry.

Equipment & Capacity
We are having a total of 6 Inssale Teknik make Extruders which are of new generation and high speed type and best in the industry. Each has a capacity to produce 50 KG/Hour i.e. total production of all six extrude is 300 KG/Hr, which is about 216 MT/Month at 100% capacity. We have corona treatment facility in all the six plants, which is a must for printing jobs, and they are online. They are locally sourced from EEMS. We have one ordinary type bag/ liner bag/garbage bag-making machine, that too from Dilip Engineers Baroda. The capacity of this machine is about 40 MT per month. We have 3 high speed two line T-Shirt bag making machine with shrink sealing and online punching with photo cell facilities. They are Taiwanese make and very well known throughout the world. Each machine can produce about 70 MT/per months i.e. 210 MT for three machines. If the bag is of heavier size, the production can be much larger. We have four manual punching units for jumbo bags with hot needle facility to produce blocking bags. Two are from XL Plastics and two from Taiwan, Cosmo make.

We also have a Recycle machine of Neptune make from West Bengal capable of producing 50 MT/month of punch waste to pallets form. We have two agglomerates of Ketan Plastic, Gujarat. A grinder is also installed in our factory. We have a tie up with Koley Converting Machinery, a very well reputed company in the printing machine industry. After 3 months of R&D, we have been successful in installing online printing machines of Roto Gravure type with highest output and finish. We can meet any type of printing quality with these machines and that too at a very high output. At present we have installed three such type online single colour Roto-Gravure machine and one two colour Roto-Gravure machine, which is running very efficiently. We have already placed an order for two more two colour online printing machines. We also have purchased one four colour-printing machine which will be installed very soon.

Export & Domestic Sale
We are regularly exporting our product through Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd. to European and USA market. Our products are much appreciated by these markets for quality consistency and standards. Now, we are confident of building our own export market and are taking some positive steps in that direction.

We have registered a brand for our product in the name of “KOSMO” for domestic market, which had a very encouraging response during its launch, and we expect that we will have the major market share of Eastern India in times to come.
